Grange Garden is a unique concept shop. Combining garden design, home décor, craft coffee, and seasonal events all into one cohesive community gathering space.
Our owner, Melissa Biggs Clark, has always been creative and ambitious. Before she founded Grange Garden, she was the visionary behind another chain of retail shops (think, Grange Garden but more “kitchen + pantry”) that she operated with a business partner. In 2017, after being bought-out of the business, Melissa was ready to follow her passion of small business. She wanted to start her own, local family-run shop, but grow it organically. Utilizing inspiration from her past stores and experiences, Melissa conceptualized a fresh and utterly beautiful approach to retail.
Once she acquired the space on Cedros in Solana Beach Melissa knew she wanted to launch before the holidays. She sourced floral preserves such as Cara Blossoms from Brazil, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus from England, and from the mystical forests of Oregon, she sourced preserved Lavender. The shop still had room to fill, so with fall approaching she decided on a pumpkin patch! Grange Garden was dressed with bales of hay, 300 pumpkins, and her famous preserved florals. On September 15th of 2021, Grange Garden was born.
When she started Grange Garden, Melissa knew that she wanted to let the wonders of the “word of mouth” approach work their magic on the Solana Beach community, and it surely has! The Pumpkin Patch at Grange Garden was such a hit that Melissa then transformed the space into a boutique Christmas tree farm and, voilà! The idea for a Grange Garden “Sips with Santa” event was born.
The turnout was huge at our Sips with Santa event, with over 175 kids lined up to meet Santa Claus. The decadent hot chocolate bar was actually the inspiration behind our Grange Garden Coffee Bar! The success of our seasonal events has molded us into a community space. We invite you to check out our events, or inquire to rent our space for your own events.
Grange Garden has grown vastly in the last year and a half. Our ever-changing stock is lush with one-of-kind imported vintage finds, consignment from local artists, and we will always have our beloved preserved florals. Grange Garden is now expanding even more as we branch into landscape design and off-site installation services.
